RESEARCH AND MULTI-CRITERIA ANALYSIS

We have over 20 years of experience with the application of multi-criteria analysis (MCA) to complex infrastructure and resource management problems. MCA is a structured approach that helps to rank alternatives when there are many possible comparison criteria, and stakeholders with varying values and interests. Our proprietary software programme helps with the computation, and a ranking of options is the outcome. The software allows for sensitivity analysis to be undertaken, where different stakeholder values can be incorporated, and the changes to rankings observed. We have undertaken over 30 MCA projects, all over the world. The focus has been on: finding routes for controversial highways and power line alignments; deciding on sites for waste management facilities; ranking of nature reserves and REDD+ strategy options; and deciding on investment priorities.

CLIMATE FINANCE

We have considerable experience with the operations and requirements of major climate finance institutions. Together our Partners and Associates have been involved in several recent evaluations and compliance assessments of partner agencies for both the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
